Alone but Together

This chair can either be used alone, or together with another.

When you sit alone, you can position yourself according to the movement of your back. You can sit with your legs straight or in a seated position. But this chair isn’t only to be used by one’s self. When another person is seated on the opposite side, each is sitting independently, but they share the same backrest. Turn your head over your shoulder to talk to each other. Or push the back to the side so that you two can sit together in a chair without the armrest. Though it is a rigid form without curves, we are warm enough together.

Straight lines and 2D planes make a structural form. This conceptual design embraces the most basic function of the chair which are back and sit and also breaks the function.

This can be fully folded and stood up when no use. When it is folded, it has a different face which looks like a piece of sculpture.
